Function
The Materialise CO-AM platform is an industry leading order entry and shipping software for 3D printed parts production. Customers can use the portal to manage their additive manufacturing workflow, whether it is in-house, outsourced or a hybrid production strategy. The CO-AM platform offers users a variety of module add-ons to integrate different features into the 3D print part order. With so many digital part files being transferred between different organisations, systems and printshops, tracking the modifications that a part has undergone along the way to production is crucial, especially for safety-critical components – this is where the Additive Marking comes in.
Solution
Our Additive Marking Serializer is integrated into the backend of the CO-AM platform via an API. Should a user want “traceability” as a value-adding element of their product, they can select our module and integrate unique identifiers into their part or batch. A key benefit here for volume production is that unique identifiers can be quickly serialised for an entire build job, saving time both during the build preparation and for part identification post-process.
Our Additive Marking Serializer is integrated into the CO-AM platform via an iFrame, allowing users to integrate unique identifiers into their part or batch directly within the platform. iFrames are effective and convenient ways to improve the interoperability of two or more software platforms, therefore the CO-AM/Additive Marking Suite connection represents an excellent framework for integrating with other MES or ERP systems.
