Challenges
TÜV NORD are a globally recognised certification provider offering accredited testing solutions for numerous Additive Manufacturing processes. TÜV NORD are a valuable Additive Marking partner and together we have jointly established the iAM-APPROVED-platform, a digital laboratory where customers can order testing and inspection services for their Additive Manufacturing processes, according to DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52920 industrial certifications. The aim of our iAM-Approved platform is to build customer trust in our client’s Additive Manufacturing processes: we therefore see making testing accessible as a key way to achieve this.
Solution
To minimise effort for our customers, we provide a standardised test specimen marked with a unique identifier to easily track its progress through production and shipping. Not only that, but our system also automatically generates the accompanying documents for packaging and processing the specimen, including shipping labels.
Our Serializer in the backend of the ecommerce-system is used to generate unique, traceable specimens which can be securely linked to a specific customer order. Currently we offer standardized testing methods for tensile testing (DIN EN ISO 6892-1), charpy impact tests (DIN EN ISO 148-1) and material analysis to prepare for a certification of AM production sites acc. to DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52920 as well as for continuous observation and improvement of repeatable product quality.
With our iAM-APPROVED webshop, we aim to increase trust in Additive Manufacturing and support the technology’s expansion into industrial-scale applications.
